Alwyn Jeddore

Junior Mi'kmaw Language Consultant

My Name is Alwyn Jeddore and I am from Eskasoni Mi'kmaw Nation. I am the son of Allan and Vivian Jeddore, both of Eskasoni. Me and my beautiful wife Conchetta have four children. Rylan, Lila, Khai and Jett. I graduated from the former Eskasoni High School, now known today as the Allison Bernard Memorial High School. I nearly finished my first credit at CBU with only few credits left to go. My passion for the Mi'kmaw Language all started with my own family and my grandfather, the Late Wilfred Prosper Sr. He was one the advocates and philosophers of the Mi'kmaw Language.

Room 207

Mi'kmaw Root Words

This presentation focuses on Mi'kmaw root words and how to determine and identify where Mi'kmaw root words may come from and how to use the language and existing resources to help come to those findings. The presentation will also focus on deconstructing words (place names, animals, trees etc.) and helping others how to go and do the same. Creating seekers of the language and culture.
